Q: Hello, Ms Catherine. Thanks so much for offering to take part in this interview! To kick things off, please tell us how and when you first got into this line of work.
I first got into it a little over two years ago, so I’d been doing it for a few months when I started with LDW in May 2008. I wanted a change in career after being a law clerk for a number of years – I’d already moved to Canada from England and this seemed a perfect opportunity to change other areas of my life too. I wanted to run my own business – doing something I enjoyed – where I could express myself and stretch my creative muscles. LDW has given me the opportunity to do that, while still keeping my independence.
Q: Do you consider yourself a sensual Mistress, or are you more commanding and mean?
Well I’d have to say that I’m both! I don’t think that the two are mutually exclusive. I’m naturally dominant and have always been kinky, and I don’t believe that dominance necessarily translates as “mean”. I’d describe myself as strict AND sensual – the cane and the kiss combined. So while I’m certainly sensual, at the same time I’m always the dominant partner – including in my own intimate relationships.
Q: What is your favourite type of session? Your “specialities”, so to speak?
I always find that difficult to answer, because my sessions are so varied, and my favourite tends to be the one I just did! But I suppose my favourites are ones where the caller and I have really “clicked” – where there’s been real communication. I love my sissy callers and the naughty boys who need a good spanking and I suppose my speciality would be role-playing. Many of my calls are not overtly sexual, which I think surprises many people. Sometimes a session will just simply be a discussion of various fetishes, for instance. Many callers appreciate being able to talk freely with someone who’s genuinely open-minded.
Q: For a first-time caller or sexytexter, what might they expect in a session with you? Do you have suggestions for what they might do, or not do, before their session that will enhance their experience?
If a caller has a particularly detailed fantasy, or if they’re a bit shy about articulating their needs verbally, then certainly I’d recommend e-mailing me first. Then I usually suggest a short, introductory session for the first time. That way we can decide if we click and we can get into the fantasy in greater depth in future sessions. A bit like a first date really – there’s less pressure if you just have lunch together, rather than a prolonged dinner date! And just like that first date, a sense of humour is a great social lubricant!
Q: Please describe your single most memorable call or text session, something that stays in your mind to this day.
Well, discretion forbids me to go into specific details of course, but I love it when I have a real connection with the caller and when he says something like “I’ve never been able to say this before…” And even though I AM dominant and can be quite strict, I love it when I feel as if I’ve really given something to the caller – especially if it’s something he didn’t expect. I know that some callers just expect a “phone fuck” and go away with something completely different.
Q: When you aren’t taking calls and text sessions here at LDW Group, what do you enjoy doing? What are your hobbies and interests?
I read a lot, listen to music and, weather permitting, I like cycling and swimming. I’m also pretty active politically and in the animal rights movement, although I’m not able to devote as much time to those areas as I used to. In the winter I’m a volunteer at a local homeless shelter. I’m also a devout and practicing pagan.
Q: Great! Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?
I’d like people to know that there’s more to this line of work than what I call the “oooh baby!” phone calls. In fact, I don’t think ANY of us at LDW do those calls. Of course I’m paid for my time but it’s my love of all things kinky that makes a call with me special. I also think that many of my US callers are interested in talking to someone raised in a completely different sexual environment. Yes, it’s true, the English ARE a kinky lot! But I suppose the thing I’d really want potential callers to know is that when they call me, they’re really calling ME – not a character. Even when I’m role-playing they’re still playing with an aspect of ME. I don’t assume a persona when I pick up the phone.

MsCatherine certainly does not need any endorsements from the likes of me; her words and talents speak for themselves. But as one who considers myself lucky to have enjoyed her company on the phone and in the chatroom, I would add that she is genuine in her enjoyment of what she does with her callers. She has surprised and delighted me in ways I would never have predicted, all the while maintaining that strictness and dominance I crave. Even when she’s roleplaying a specific scene I have requested, her feel for my response along with her creativity and spontaneity take me places I wasn’t necessarily aware I wanted to go.
And then there’s the Magic Bus she’s created on Sunday evenings, a truly strange and wonderful journey for a group of strange and wonderful friends.
